Port Elgin Intimate Winter Farm Wedding

Today is a pretty special day. It’s the one year anniversary of this sweet intimate Port Elgin winter farm wedding I shot for Dusty & Emily. Since then they have added another beautiful human to their family, and I couldn’t be more thrilled for them! They have so much to celebrate this weekend!

Looking back over their photos, I’m so glad we decided to capture the day as it played out. We started the day by capturing their early morning farm routine of feeding the cows and barn cats together as a family. That’s how farms work and a cow’s stomach doesn’t understand “sorry, we’re busy getting married”. While it was an early start to the day, you could tell they didn’t mind and I loved tagging along. That’s the perk to a having a small wedding. You can still enjoy your day and stress less when there aren’t so many moving parts.

Once the chores were done, it was time for some Daddy-Daughter time while Emily went to town to finish getting ready for the rest of the day. I followed them around capturing little details of the day. The photo of the two of them at the fridge will always be one of my favourites.

The day was so relaxed, that I also had plenty of time to capture the details, like Emily’s flowers and dress. Once Emily arrived, it was time to get dressed and set up for the ceremony in their warm farm house. Four white chairs for family and an original wooden door was all they needed, and it was perfect.

After their ceremony, we celebrated with champagne and then headed to the barn for photos, followed by a most delicious feast at Ristorante Rosina in Port Elgin. The day was perfection!

Happy Anniversary Dusty & Emily! Every time I see one of your photos, I’m inspired again and I hope you feel the same today, and many many years from now.

Cheers!
