Are you ready for this? It’s a monster long blog post (you’ve been warned..), but I’m extremely excited to share this Prince Edward County wedding at Marshlands Vacation Rental with y’all for so many reasons and I am certain you’ll enjoy the images as much as I do.
I first met Catherine & Mike a week before their wedding over cold cuts and mushroom soup in Catherine’s family farm house kitchen near Picton, Ontario. It reminded me of my own childhood and after only a short period of time of knowing them I felt at home and excited about their family farm wedding in the County. It was a perfect fit!
Their July wedding took place at Catherine’s childhood home, now known as Marshlands Vacation Rental (also known as the oldest brick building in Prince Edward County). This place is lovely with it’s large open rooms, tall windows (natural light win!), hard wood floors and cozy fire places. It’s a perfect spot for a wedding and photos.
After a beautiful ceremony and some family photos, the wedding party loaded me up into the family RV – no joke! – and headed to a local flat rock beach for some fun photos. It’s not everyday I get chauffeured around in an RV and I won’t lie…. I kind of liked it! (Reason #364 why I love County folks)
After our photos at the flat rock beach, we headed to Catherine’s family farm for a lasagna dinner and butter tarts for dessert JUST before the rain started (thunder included), but the rain didn’t matter. There were still lots of laughs, trampoline jumping, and a killer first country swing dance to one of my favourite songs: High Valley – Make You Mine.
Seriously an amazing day and I couldn’t be more honoured to have been a part of it.
Catherine & Mike: Thank you!
