If you didn’t already know, I grew up near Violet Hill, Ontario in a little town called Shelburne. As a child, every now and then my mom would would stop by a specialty gift shop called Granny Taught us How, a store I remember being filled with many breakable things that I wasn’t allowed to touch. I am pretty sure that while sitting on my little hands this place started my appreciation for warm country smells like cinnamon and my love for plaid.
Just across the street from this cute Violet Hill gift shop is a restaurant that smells equally delicious and contains the same warm and inviting atmosphere: Mrs. Mitchell’s Restaurant, which is where Jenny & Ryan celebrated their wedding day. It was such a treat to revisit this area with all it’s rustic charm and to be a part of their special day. Now that I am older, I can appreciate why this place is so special and it was the perfect spot for a small wedding with delicious country details.
Their day started with a first look on a bridge to the swan pond near the ceremony location and finished with a delicious 3 course meal prepared by the talented folks at Mrs. Mitchell’s Restaurant. In-between, there was a cute little ceremony, some fun photos around the property and a cocktail hour. Overall, a pretty great day!
