Let me be one of the first of many future wedding photographer’s to introduce you to one of my new favourite wedding venues in Hastings County at the Black River Retreat in Tweed.
It’s a cozy cabin-like-resort just off highway 7 in the woods set on the Black River and can fit up to 60 people for a tented reception. There are a couple of firepits, but my favourite is the large one right next to the river (how awesome would this be in the fall!?). The grounds are landscaped with stone paths, and there is plenty of rustic charm both inside and out. In fact, the inside may surprise you with it’s high ceilings, fireplaces and a dinning room table that will blow you mind! I didn’t stay for dinner this time, but I did smell the food and it smelled amazing!
This was the perfect place for Kristie & Shaun’s surprise wedding back in June. Their quiet little ceremony was held on the grass in-between the resort and river. It was peaceful and special. After a few family photos, we retreated to the river for some fun photos on the rocks and in the woods, followed by a few drinks and a delicious dinner.
Alright, enough of my review…. on to the photos!
