I am soooooo excited for this post!
Sometimes in my line of work, I get to meet people like Laura & JP.
I don’t even know where to begin with these guys… they are just that amazing! We’re even in talks of adopting one another…. apparently, the paperwork is in the mail, but I don’t remember signing anything. Doesn’t matter, I’ve already started practicing my new signature.
Surprisingly enough, these folks found me on Twitter and before I knew it I was signing up for JP’s Ultimate Frisbee team in Waterloo and having after game beers with these folks at the local watering hole! Normally, I only get to interact with my couples once or twice before their wedding, but since Laura & JP became my friends, I was able to photograph their wedding as an “almost family member” and knew they would be game with some photo-experimentation! We were able to incorporate some sparklers, some photos at dusk using the Cambridge Mill, some trespassing without a permit (shhhhh!) and even shot in the field while lightning cracked around us.
and I would do it all over again!
There’s something that needs to be discussed first before we hit the photos.
Without going into too much detail, I really want to give a special shout out to these two gals:
Cassie Shuttleworth Make-up & Hair for her talents and timely assistance with Laura’s makeup, and
Tina Riddel from Living Fresh for her quick thinking in collaborating with Laura & JP
You girls rocked!
Other credits go to these lovely folks:
Rachelle Gill of Salon Mannequin
The Uber Talented Dress Maker: Jennie Ross
and of course the wedding coordinator: Patricia Stockie-Abdallah
Now that all the players are listed, on with the show!
Also, sending the boys for a shave instead of photographing them figuring out suspenders was a win!
Laura & JP: Thank You from the bottom of my heart for all your kindness and sharing your day with me! You’ve tolerated my quirkiness, my crazy suggestions and my foot-in-mouth disease. I look forward to more fireworks, bacon dates and tasting your margarita recipe!
